Zhang Xiong 2015 Paintings and Calligraphy Auction will introduce Xiamen Artist Lin Liangfeng’s Lingshan Mount Assembly, Guanyin Bodhisattva and Beautiful Landscape of Taimu Mount.
Lin Liangfeng is good at landscape painting and Buddhist figure painting. He is related to Buddhism by destiny. He used to lodge in Xiamen South Putuo Temple for studying Buddhology for three years and assist Master Miao Zhan and Ben Ru in establishment of the first Buddhist charity foundation in the country. As the Vice-President and assistant Secretary-General of the Foundation, he has made all efforts to help the weak and the poor. Due to such life experiences he began to pay attention to the subject of Buddhism for his painting and drew a plenty of excellent Buddhist figures. Lingshan Mount Assembly and Guanyin Bodhisattva to be auction this time are both his masterpieces. The figure under his brush, with an clear air and a solemn face, appears merciful. Lingshan Mount Assembly depicts the story of Buddha showing a flower to all Shuras without saying a word. Buddha Shakyamuni is sermoning to all Shuras around him on Lingshan Mount; and Buddha holds a red flower in his hand. Guanyin Bodhisattva depicts the spiritual image of great wisdom and great mercy of the Bodhisattva.
Beautiful Landscape of Taimu Mount with equal stress on ink and colors has profound artistic conception. Taimu mountain is a famous scenic spot and enjoys the “Fairyland on the Sea”reputation.
Lin Liangfeng, also know by his pseudonym Yi Xi and religious name Yuan Ming, was born in Xiamen. He graduated from Fujian Arts and Crafts School in1981 and taught in Fujian Arts and Crafts School and Academy of Arts and Crafts of Fuzhou University from 1981 to 2003. He studied with the famous artist Mr. Zhang Xiaohan and is good at Chinese landscape painting and Taoist and Buddhist figure painting. He is a member of Chinese Artists Association, the President of Xiamen Zhang Xiaohan Art Institute, the President of Chinese Landscape Painting Committee of Xiamen Artists Association,the Assistant Secretary-General of Landscape Painting Art Committee of Fujian Artists Association, a painter of Xiamen Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, the distinguished painter of Fuzhou Academy of Painting and the Vice-President of Xiamen Master Hong Yi Research Institute.
Lin used to participated in many big exhibitions such as 1st, 2nd and 4th Contemporary Chinese Landscape Paintings Invitation Exhibition, 1st National Youth Traditional Chinese Painters’ Art Exhibition and 1st National Youth Traditional Chinese Painters’ Art Exhibition and won awards. He also used to hold individual exhibitions in Nanping, Fuzhou and Xiamen. Published art collections include Lin Liangfeng’s Ink Wash Paintings, Lin Liangfeng’s Artwork, Sketches of Buddhist Sites, Guanyin Bodhisattva Figures. His works were also published in thesauruses and artwork collections such as Chinese Artists, Young Traditional Chinese Painters in China, Disc of Chinese Artists, A Collection of 1st National Chinese Paintings Exhibition, Selections of Chinese Paintings of Chinese Art Colleges and Universities and Modern Chinese Painting.
